The bus

The flagship of St. Nicks Alliance’s Literacy Immersion Initiative is the BK Story Voyager, a mobile literary initiative designed to foster a love for reading for elementary students in North Brooklyn. The BK Story Voyager features an education professional/librarian who creates and delivers a rich reading atmosphere for students and their families, aligned with the theme-based literacy.

The BK Story Voyager travels weekly to several sites including PS 18, PS 147, PS 250, Brooklyn Arbor School, the Williamsburg Community Center, and more.

About St. Nicks Alliance's Youth & Education Division

Our mission is to help young people become lifelong learners and thrive as adults.

We seek to positively influence school attendance and attachment, enthusiasm for learning, social-emotional skills and academic and employment self-efficacy. By building steady progress in these areas, we equip young people to graduate from high school and acquire the essential skills for post-secondary success. More info

St. Nicks Alliance is a nonprofit, non-sectarian community development organization celebrating 40 years of community development in North Brooklyn. It all started in 1975 when a group of determined residents and business people committed themselves to fight the climate of decline in North Brooklyn.
